Return to the Lighthouse Timeline
Return to the Main Sable Index

As well as working through the reasons for the changes from early in the new timeline, I’m also trying to work out how to reconcile the results of those changes with actual scenarios played over the many, many years of the Sable Game, so that those characters who were Outside at the time of the change at least recognise the general events when they get back, even if the details have changed. Some of these are harder to sort out than others.

The Valhalla scenarios in the Sable Mountains are pretty much unchanged from the point of view of PC involvement (if not the events that happened after), with the exception that rather than Duke Stephen, the designated Family kidnappee was Prince Cameron.

Anghelt, Jensen and Garrowby. These scnarios stand as were.

The Weimar Republik scenarios remain largely unchanged. The main exception is encounters with Dirk Weber. His timeline has changed significantly, but the rest, including the links with the Sky Shadows and the delightful Emer family, have pretty much been retained as they were.

Post-Manira New Oceania is closer to before than Manira itself, which has change substantially (i.e. the transfer of the Power now happened before most of the PCs involved were born). New Oceania itself still exists, but is longer-established and the government has changed somewhat. It’s also more expansionary, given that it now incorporates elements of the Machine. The main casualty of all this has been Curt Koen, who isn’t around in the form you know any more. I’m still working that one through.

The Reich. Probably unsurprisingly, this is the big one. The Peace Treaty was signed much earlier, and came into force on 1 January SY129. On the other hand, that doesn’t mean that everyone was on board with it on either side, so there’s been plenty of mayhem over the years.

As some of you are aware, I used to flesh out events happening in the background of the game, so I knew how the major NPCs were reacting to scenarios being played. I’m going to try to get back into the habit of doing that again, so I know what the more recent changes have been, rather than the historical ones. As with the Trains of Thought pieces, these are most definitely OOC knowledge, but I’ve popped them here for anyone who may have a horrified interest in them.

Base scenario: Murder and Mountains, end-March 153 – this one was key to the foundation of Valhalla.
